Having Seafoods at Wa Heng Seafood Restaurant

Today (10th Jan 2010), my roommates and I were going to Kampung Air Seri Selera to have dinner. We had our dinner at the Wa Heng Seafood Restaurant in Kampung Air Seri Selera. Seafood is our favorite food. The seafoods at this restaurant are come from Kudat. We are ordered fish (Lao Hu Ban), crabs, prawn (Xia Gao @ Lai Liao Xia), vegetable, and Tuaran’s noodles.

The dishes are looked like very tasty and delicious but after we tasted these, it is really disappointed us. The total fee of the dinner was RM275.35 including 10% service tax. Each of us had to pay around RM55.00. The service tax is really out of our expectation; we didn’t think and realize such food court will have service tax. The Kampung Air Seri Selera is considered as a food court at Kampung Air. In the food court has several seafood restaurants and other food stalls.

One of the most frightening and funny thing that I had been seen at Kampung Air Seri Selera is after you sat down, the waiters that came from different stalls will take the menu and introduce the foods. Then, you will be at a loss because don’t know want to answer whom first. I was really never see such case happened at West Malaysia.

The reason that we are chosen Wa Heng Seafood Restaurant is the normal crab
only charged RM13.80 per kg.

This is the steamed fish's tail (Lao Hu Ban). This is quite expensive RM88. I don't like this fish because the flesh of fish is quite hard and the fish's skin is very thick.


This is the prawn (Xia Gao @ Lai Liao Xia).
RM80 for two prawns only because RM10.00 per 100g.

This is the soft-shell crabs. The shell of the crabs can be eaten and it is very crispy.
I only like this dish. This dish is Rm30.00, RM6.00 per 100 g.

This plate of vegetable is RM15.00.
Then, we had ordered fried Tuaran's noodles. The cost is RM12.00.

I don’t like the sauce for dipping the prawns and crabs, it is very disgusting. The sauce is the combinations of salted-egg, pepper and mayonnaise if not mistaken. I think the salted-egg is not cooked and direct blended with mayonnaise and pepper because it is liked a bit stinking. My roommates rated this restaurant as 2.5 stars out of 5 stars.
